MiniMax H3 Pricing: What One Second of Video Costs (Official API vs XXT)

MiniMax H3 price per second at a glance

The official price is MiniMax's published 768P API price, checked Oct 2026; MiniMax may change it, so check their pricing page for the current figure. MiniMax H3 is also available in the Hailuo app, which is sold on its own membership plans; we don't compare against those here.

XXT is an independent service, not affiliated with MiniMax. We run the open-weight MiniMax H3 model on GPU servers we operate and sell it by the second, through a CLI for AI agents like Claude Code and Codex, an HTTP API and a web studio.

How billing works

• Credits: 1 credit = $0.0015. Video is 6 credits per second at night and 9 during the day.
• Per second, rounded up: an 8.4-second clip is billed as 9 seconds.
• The rate is fixed when you submit, by Singapore Time (UTC+8). A job submitted at night is billed at the night rate even if it runs into the morning.
• 1080P costs double. It is generated at 768P and upscaled.
• Two takes cost double: --segments 2 makes two versions for you to choose from.
• Motion swap (swapping the people in a video for the people in your photos) costs three times as much, six times with 1080P.
• Held, then settled: credits are held when you submit and settled per take. A successful take is charged in full; a take that fails the automatic quality check but is still delivered is charged half; a failed or cancelled take is refunded in full. Your balance never goes negative.

Worked examples

A 10-second 1080P clip submitted at night is 120 credits ($0.18). Reference photos, saved characters, lines, a last frame and ambient sound add nothing to the price. How to make a minute-long video: longer videos.

Credit packages and free credits

• Packages: $15 for 10,000 credits, $75 for 50,000, $150 for 100,000, or a custom amount from $15 up to $1,500. Every package has the same price per credit.
• $15 buys about 27 minutes of 768P video at night, or 18 minutes during the day.
• Credits never expire, purchased or bonus. Purchased credits are non-refundable; credits for a video that fails are returned automatically.
• New accounts get 500 credits, enough for 83 seconds of video at night or 55 during the day.
• Payment is through Stripe checkout (card and other methods shown on the page). Your agent can also run h3 buy and send you the payment link; credits arrive as soon as the payment goes through.

Songs

XXT also makes songs from lyrics and a style: 100 credits ($0.15) per track, 2 tracks per run, so a run holds 200 credits. The price is the same day and night, and a track that fails is refunded.

How to spend less

• Submit at night (22:00–10:00 Singapore Time): 6 instead of 9 credits per second. For clips that aren't urgent, have your agent submit them at night.
• Draft at 768P, one take. Use 1080P and two takes only for the final version of important shots.
• Fix the seed while iterating (--seed) and change one thing at a time, so you learn what each change does.
• Write better prompts, reroll less. Most wasted credits are prompts the model had to guess at: see the MiniMax H3 prompt guide.
• Your agent tells you how many credits a job will hold before it submits, and asks first before large submissions.

Videos, songs and uploaded files are kept for 8 hours after the job ends, then deleted automatically. Please download them in time.
